Day 1b - Aussie Millions

The online journal of Tony G. Professional poker player

Gloria Balding talks to Tony about a hand he played just before the break. Tony had Aces. Tony said people were all-in in front of him and he moved all-in, someone else went all-in behind him with Kings. He said it was a pot that would have made the tournament for him. “I feel sick, unfortunately a King came…Queen Jack came…someone moved in with Queen Jack…I ran third in that pot with Aces…”

Tony was still alive after that hand and in good spirits. He said he felt fine and he is selling shares now on ChipMeUp and he feels he’s playing for the players that have stakes in him. “I’m going to do my best.”

Gloria and Tony talk about the growth of the Aussie Millions over the years and the overall tournament setting at the Crown Casino. PokerNews is now an official media partner of Aussie Millions and Tony feels it’s a natural move.

The conversation returns to the tournaments, Tony says he thinks he will play a lot of the tournaments at the Aussie Millions this year. He says he hasn’t been playing much since the Premier League and he’s “desperate to play.” The tournament he is really looking forward to is the $100K buy-in.

ChipMeUp again leads the conversation and Tony explains that it is a staking site where you can sell yourself on the site. For an example he says 25 people are buying one percent of him in the main event. He says it’s a lot of fun for him. He feels it makes poker a lot more interesting when you can take a percent of someone in live and online poker and instead of just sitting on the couch watching them, you are part of their action. Tony says, “If I don’t play so good I might as well back someone and watch the game.”
