Looking Back, Going Forward

This past week was both tough and rewarding. The OFC Opener series was the biggest thing we’ve ever done on Tonybet Poker and since the launch of the site, the most challenging task of all. To run 11 big tournaments in one week is a lot for an independence poker site.

Of course, I’ve done bigger things in my life, but given the time and the resources, I think we have accomplished something really big here. I know I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again – it’s only the beginning.

One thing we were not sure about was whether we’ll have overlays or not. It wouldn’t have been an issue if we did, but the fact that we didn’t shows that OFC Opener has drawn the players’ attention. And that’s exactly what we wanted. I really believe that these events are just the thing to give the game of Open Face Chinese another big boost.

I’m also really proud that the only Tonybet Poker pro Pedro Marte won the High Roller Special event as well as Brazilian poker icon Leandro Brasa winning the Main Event. The game is becoming really big in South America and especially in Brazil and I’m really happy to play a part in spreading the word of OFC there.

But we’re not done yet, not by far. The series has just reach its final phase and I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s tournament. Everyone including myself expects it to be the biggest online OFC event ever and with the interest from the players that we had so far I’m sure it’s going to be a huge success.

I invite you all to play the MAYjor Event tomorrow and see how fun it can be. Just ask anyone who played on my site and they’ll tell you. The feedback from our players has been very positive. Having in mind that the poker client is still being developed, that gives us a lot of confidence that we’re going the right way.

To give you a peak at what’s coming up – we’re going to have even more tournaments. Almost all of the OFC Opener events will become regular tournaments on the site and we’re going to launch even more of them. From this point it’s only going to get better!
