Multi Table Tournaments
There is a number of differences between cash games and tournaments. Although the general play is pretty much the same there are some specific rules that apply tournament play only.
Disconnections
Should for any possible reason a player lose his/her connection, play at the table will go on. Other players will continue posting blinds and antes. It is highly recommended that a player come back to the table as soon as possible to resume play. If you choose not to come back to the poker room you would be blinded out of the tournament.
Players must realize the risk of disconnection. Disconnections can and do take place. Tony G Poker will not be held responsible for disconnections regardless of cause. If a player gets disconnected during play, he would be given a 30 sec. period of time to reconnect. If a player fails to do so, his hand would be automatically folded. In case you choose to sit out, you would be perceived as 'away from the table' and still get cards that would eventually be folded. The only way to change this status is by rejoining the game (just uncheck the right box).
Play
To join the action, just select a tournament you wish to participate in from the poker room lobby. Make sure that your selected tournament still allows registration. When your tournament will be set to kick off, your table window will open automatically. If you happen to already play in the maximum allowed number of tables, you would be asked to give up play at one of these tables. Until you join the tournament you will be deemed 'away from the table.' Tournament blinds will increase at preset intervals as the tournament proceeds. Tournament play prohibits players to avoid posting blinds. Blind posting procedure is automatic.
The gaming software is designed to keep all tournament tables balanced player number wise. Therefore, as players leave the tournament, you maybe re-seated at another table. As the number of players still in the game shrinks, the software will automatically close tables until the final table is reached. Once a player loses all their chip stack they leave the table automatically, unless a 'Buy In' option is provided. 'Buy In' Tournaments provide players with the option of purchasing a new set of chips for a limited period of time should they go completely broke.

In tournaments with less than 10 participants, the winner will collect the entire prizepool. Payout structures for certain tournaments may vary. It is your responsibility to check the terms and conditions for your selected tournament before you register.
Single Table Tournaments
A single-table tournament, exactly as the name suggests, is played on one single table populated by up to ten players. As soon as the table is full the tournament begins. Such tournaments have no break periods. The tournament goes on until a winner is announced. Single-table tournaments typically award three prizes. The first place winner collects 50% of the pot. The second and the third place winners collect 30% and 20% respectively. These tournaments usually boast a wide range of buy-in stakes. To check out the buy-in range just go to "Choose Game" section in the lobby.
Satellite Tournaments
Both Single Table and Multi Table tournaments can sometimes serve as qualifiers for prestigious high-profile poker events. Such qualifiers are also referred to as 'satellites.' Satellite winners are typically awarded seats to major live competitions, such as the World Series of Poker.
